Travel may be restricted at the moment, but that doesn't mean our taste buds have to be on pause. HauteMess, a unique European market and sandwich bar is serving the most enticing delicacies right in the Fairfax district.

Located at 7673 Beverly Blvd, Haute Mess is one to place on your radar. The unassuming restaurant and market has a menu, that at quick glance may seem lackluster, but it's quite the opposite. Everything is extremely fresh and beyond delicious!

I had the pleasure of recently trying out a few options and I was very impressed. I opted to try the Cosmopolitan e Rosati and the Old Fashion Salumiis -- both delicious. The Cosmopolitan e Rosati is a classic! Made with Prosciutto di Parma, soft burrata cheese, tomato, basil, arugula, and a smidge of pesto vinaigrette sandwiched between a baked French baguette.
The Old Fashion Salumi, composed of Spicy Capocollo, Mortadella, Soppressata, Genoa Salami with Provolone, tomato, lettuce and aioli on Ciabatta, which was also very delicious.

“I wanted to curate a special shopping experience where customers can buy a wide array of European goods, enjoy crafted sandwiches, sip on coffee and learn about imported wines” explains owner, Michael Simhai.
The complete menu consists of 12 sandwiches all named after popular cocktails and featuring bread, meats, and cheeses you can find in-store. I also have to mention, they make a pretty stellar charcuterie board - perfect for take out AND all bread and pastries are made in-house! The market will highlight an impressive list of over 150 wines from regions all over the world such as Spain, Sicily, France, Austria, Argentina, just to name a few. Need I say more?
