Los Cabos International Film Festival - Marks its 4th Year and Launches Cabos TV
Recently many in the entertainment industry jetted off to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in honor of the Los Cabos Film Festival. During the celebration at its second gala, Los Cabos Film Festival launched Cabos TV.
Cabos TV was also presented due to the response to the global trend whereby cinema actors and directors are beginning to be active in television, by channeling different approaches to film. Cabos TV supports independent filmmaking and provides a powerful streaming service that promotes cinematographic production while providing a strong and encouraging support system through film.
During its second gala night, celebrities, government officials, film-industry professionals and other festival attendees gathered in a welcome cocktail presented by the Quebecois delegation. With alliances and partners such as: Cannes Film Festival’s Marché du Film, IFP from New York, Strategic Partners from Canada, Cine-Link Sarajevo Film Festival and Tribeca Film Institute, the festival revealed its intention to help filmmakers find new paths for finishing and distributing their works.
One of films most powerful ground-breaking directors said it best! "To pick your films is to pick your life," stated Jean-Marc Vallée. That statement alone defines the power ad ability that is behind the film industry.
Each year TV and film takes new risks, higher strides, and makes ground-breaking decisions towards the evolution of television.
"He (Jean-Marc) changed me from a chronically unemployed actor into an Academy Award winner," stated Jared Leto while presenting the Career Tribute Award to Jean-Marc Vallée who directed Quebecois.
What a magical night it was! With 19 Mexican premieres, 11 Latin American Premieres, and 4 World Premieres, the 4th edition of the Los Cabos International Film Festival has been an unforgettable edition.
To close the gala event, Carol had its Latin American Premiere. This film was directed by Todd Haynes, with great performances by Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara, who won the Best Actress Award and the Queer Palm this year at Cannes.
In this fourth edition, Los Cabos International Film Festival is breaking new group and opening new film sections which will strengthen the industry program. Guests are invited to 'come and see what the neighbors are doing' as Mexico, USA and Canada showcased their best films to the world!
The Los Cabos International Film Festival has once again proved to be unstoppable -- till next year!
