Our Favorite Looks From the 2020 CMA's - Country Music Artists Were Stunning On and Off the Stage
Last week our favorite Country Artists gathered for the 2020 Country Music Association Awards! Of course it’s all about the music, but it’s also a great time to dress to the nines - and this year the artists were servin’ all the LEWKS!
A-listers attended the 53rd annual awards show at the Music City Center in Nashville. It’s one of the few events where celebs were able to gather in-person due to COVID-19. Thankfully, all in attendance were tested before the big night to ensure safety protocols were followed.
“We couldn’t be more excited to bring all of these incredible performances to life next Wednesday night and give our artists the chance to come together, in a big way, on television for the first time in months,” executive producer Robert Deaton previously said in a statement.
Reba McEntire hosted for the fifth time alongside first timer Darius Rucker. “I’m thrilled to be back hosting the CMA Awards and even more thrilled that I get to share the stage with Darius Rucker,” McEntire said in a statement in October. “We’re looking forward to a night of celebrating great country music and hope you’ll tune in and watch!”
Maren Morris took home three trophies at the 2020 Country Music Association Awards, for Single of the Year and Song of the Year for "The Bones" and Female Vocalist of the Year. At the CMA’s she used her platform to shine the spotlight on Black female country artists.
During her acceptance speech, Morris said there were some singers "I want to give recognition to because I'm just a fan of their music, and they're as country as it gets." The singer has always been one to speak up for individuals, especially when they’re often overlooked! "I just want them all to know how much we love them back and just check out their music after this. It's Linda Martell, Yola, Mickey Guyton, Rissi Palmer, Brittney Spencer, Rhiannon Giddens," Morris said. "There are so many amazing Black women that pioneered and continue to pioneer this genre, and I know they're going to come after me, and they've come before me, but you've made this genre so, so beautiful. I hope you know that we see you. Thank you for making me so inspired as a singer in this genre." - WE STAN!
Cheers to all the nominees and congrats to the winners!
