Lil Wayne Skips Another Performance, Janelle Monae Spreads Self Love and The Black Keys Take the Stage After Long Hiatus
Per usual, day two of Life is Beautiful was full of surprises. As a fest that is easily described as one of the best festivals around the world it's pretty spectacular and one to put on your radar.
Cautious Clay mesmerized the audience with his soothing voice mid day on day two. Although half of the crowd wasn't entirely sure who he was it was a nice surprise.
Lil Wayne canceled yet another show. This one came as a huge blow to his fans who now are demanding refunds from his antics. "Unfortunately, Lil Wayne will not be able to perform tonight. Sorry for any inconvenience," read the boards, marked with the Life is Beautiful logo, twenty minutes into his designated set time.
Groans and grumbles took over the stage as fans went into an Uproar. Currently Lil Wayne is part of an unlikely tour with Blink-182 and has been canceling left and right. It's likely that his cancellation is due to lack of respect on the artists' part to his dedicated fans.
Janelle Monae put on the BEST performance. Fans were very pleased almost to the point one festival goer chanted, "Lil Wayne who..."! Her performance was full of self love and positive messages which is beyond fitting!
This isn't the first time Janelle has performed at the fest! Back in 2013, early into the start of her career, she made her fest debut around a 3PM set! Her fame has skyrocketed over the past years but she has remained true to her self, her fans, and her message. Which makes her timeless!
The Black Keys closed out the Downtown Stage with an unparalleled performance in front of thousands of festival-goers and had a surprise visit by Las Vegas icon, Wayne Newton. Their return was much anticipated! After a 5-year hiatus, The Black Keys absolutely killed it! Bluesy undertones and a stage presence like no other is what makes The Black Keys one-of-a-kind!
Life is Beautiful’s most intimate stage, the Huntridge, is always the place to see interesting, up-and-coming acts or the well-established in a close-up environment. ”
Taylor Bennet’s set at the Huntridge Stage with a special performance by his brother and three-time Life is Beautiful performer, Chance The Rapper, who headlined the main stage Friday night, came on stage to duet "Broad Shoulders."
Additional highlights included: an indie folk lover’s dream performance by Of Monsters and Men in the early evening took place and an energy boosting set by Rüfüs Du Sol at the Bacardi Stage.
