Fashion During the Pandemic - Our Top Picks for 2020 and Beyond
Working from home has had it's perks, such as extending my lounge and athleisure wear! From cozy sweaters and fuzzy boots – to sweatpants with Timberlands, this year was all about comfort!
While we are still in full quarantine mode, let's take a look at the Winter fashion must-haves which includes your favorites – SWEAT PANTS! Just because you’re not going anywhere and you don’t have in-person plans doesn’t mean you can’t look cute AND comfortable lounging around your home!
Let’s be honest, who doesn’t want more sweatpants suits?! Thanks to much of this year having been defined for many of us with strict shelter-in-place orders, sales of sweatpants were up 80% in April. Take a look at our favorites this winter season along with accessories for those necessary trip to your local Trader Joe’s!
Dicks Sporting Goods:
I’ll be completely honest! I NEVER thought I would willingly buy clothing from DSG! Once I saw THIS cute sweatpant set I knew I had to have one. My personal favorite is the olive green hoodie! It’s multi-colored and slightly cropped so it’s current (unlike some of the other items they sell). Paired with the joggers this one is a no-brainer! The color scheme transitions from Fall to Winter seamlessly, not to mention it is extremely comfortable.
Warby Parker:
The affordable eyewear line has done it again! The Winter 2020 collection brings back some all-time favorite Warby Parker frames, revived with new colors, fits, and design details. Think forest greens (see a trend) icy blues and cozy tortoises. Styles start at $95 and as always, you can add blue-light-filtering lenses to any frame for an additional $50. They also recently added an exciting collaboration of eyewear chains with jewelry designer, Roxanne Assoulin. The limited-edition beaded chains will be available in three unique color and material combinations. With this collaboration, the brands will also be making a donation to an organization close to both of their hearts - Girl Up, an initiative founded by the United Nations Foundation to advance girls’ skills, rights, and opportunities to be leaders.
Timberlands:
Timberlands have been a staple for years! Not only are they extremely versatile, but they're also waterproof which make it an easy shoe to transition through the seasons. Besides, the classic tan boot the brand has extended to many other fashionable editions such as these two options!
Tenth Street Hats:
There are many hat vendors, but few actually get it right! Tenth Street Hats offer a plethora of hat options for both men and women with a consumer-friendly price point. My personal favorite is the Adelle Hat (in the color 'wine'). From straw hats and fedora to wool wide brimmed Tenth Street Hats has it all! Tenth Street Hats was founded in 1921 by Jack Dorfman and Arthur Hyman. The Tenth Street name is taken from the original warehouse on 10th Street and Broadway in Oakland, California. The brand prides itself on selling designer hats, made the old way, sold the new way.
Cozy Ribbed Sweaters from Express:
Everyone needs a nice ribbed sweater in their closet. Express has a multitude of options. They're easy to layer with your favorite wool coat or simply wear as a stand-alone piece with your favorite jeans while sipping your latte! I'm obsessed with this brand as they ALWAYS have solid options and a nice sale going on.
Muaves:
2020 was all about comfort! I don’t know about you, but sometimes spending 2+hours sstyling my hair is the last thing I want to do. Muaves hair wraps come in perfectly for this very reason (as well as many others). The chic Microfiber Hair Turban is double stitched and lined with ultra plush microfiber and made with a washable vegan stretch satin exterior to give you a perfect fit. Wear your Muaves Microfiber Hair Turban right after a shower and before combing your hair to get your hair to a damp state. This product improves the health of your hair by limiting damage from heat drying and transitioning your hair from a wet to damp state as quickly as possible.
As 2020 comes to an end, I think it's only fitting to provide a round-up of our favorite pieces and pandemic staples! What were your favorites for the year and what do you hope to snag more of?! Let us know in the comments!
