Figueroa Philly - LA's Best Philly Cheesesteak Restaurant Debuts a Stellar Fried Chicken Sandwich
There’s a new fried chicken sandwich in town that’s giving Popeye’s and Chick-Fil-A a run for its money! LA’s favorite restaurant for philly cheesesteaks, Figueroa Philly, just got a bit more interesting!

Figueroa Philly is a mom and pop restaurant in downtown Los Angeles that happens to take its customer service and cheesesteaks VERY seriously! When you’re here you’re family! The restaurant prides itself on its impeccable service and delivering a pretty impressive philly cheesesteak! To take it up a notch they stick close to the classic style and use rolls straight from Amoroso’s Baking Company and stuff them with marinated rib-eye steak straight from Philadelphia.

“People come to our restaurant for the Famous Figueroa Phiilly, that’s what we are known for and that’s what we have gotten our awards on,” Hizami expressed. “We do more than Phillys! If you want a breakfast burrito -- we got it! Fried chicken – we got it! Everything is fresh and made daily and we take precautions and ensure every customer receives great service.”
The restaurant recently launched “The Clucking D-Wich,” which takes the name after owner and comedian Danny Hizami. “We take care in what we do over here! We place freshly made coleslaw, and a juicy chicken patty on a brioche bun. Complete with pickles mayonnaise, and it’s delicious,” Hizami tells IdentifyLA. Simple, yet VERY craveable! As with most items, there isn’t a need to “overdress” the sandwich as it would take away from the highlighted choice of toppings that complement the sandwich in all of its glory!
While you may not see the fried chicken on the menu, as of yet, order one and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Did I mention Figueroa Philly has the BEST onion rings?! Splurge for the “bucket of onion rings,” it may seem like a lot but trust me – it’s never enough.
Having a restaurant in LA is tough, having a successful restaurant that caters to the locals and is considered a staple is almost unheard of! Figueroa Philly has been delivering top-tier food to Angelenos for a decade and it’s here to stay!
