Tuesday night Team Breezy and Chris Brown himself gathered at L.A Live for the premiere of Riveting Entertainment's “Chris Brown: Welcome To My Life.”
Chris Brown was all smiles while speaking to family and friends, not to mention endless fans, that came out in support of his latest endeavor, his very own documentary. Fresh off of his successful tour and with his precious daughter, Royalty, by his side Brown delve into the many layers that has made him into the icon he is today.
Even if you're not 100% #TeamBreezy, no one can deny his undeniable talent. He IS the Michael Jackson of our generation. "I knew he was going to be a superstar the day I met him," stated DJ Khaled in the film. "There is Michael Jackson and then there is Chris Brown, and that is fact!" This film does a great job of showcasing his life from the beginning - "flaws" and all! Brown walks us through his upbringing, his tumultuous relationships, as well as discussing high points and what he has been through to make it as an artist today. He even laid out all details of his ups and downs with pop-superstar, then-girlfriend Rihanna. Watching the film gave me chills and made me respect him more as an artist.
“The ability to tell a story in a documentary form like this, allow yourself to be vulnerable and allow the world to see you, is very admirable,” said Terrence J as he welcomed guests and introduced the film. “It’s rare to meet someone with the level of talent he has.”
The film highlights interviews with moguls in the music industry such as: J. Lo, Rita Ora, Usher, Mary J. Blige, DJ Khaled, Jamie Foxx, and President of BET Stephen Hill as well as cameos from Mike Tyson and Terrence J.
“I did this for the fans,” said Brown as he described why he created this project with Riveting Entertainment. “I wouldn’t be here if weren’t for Team Breezy.”
As Rita Ora describes, Chris Brown is a "loving, caring, and gorgeous person,' and viewers will see the many layers of Breezy himself in this documentary. "Chris Brown: Welcome to My Live" is painfully raw, heartfelt, and truly a great documentary, regardless on where you may stand with his past and lifestyle.
The feature film will be released in movie theaters nationwide for a special one-night only event on Thursday, June 8 and will have you reflecting on just how his music touches you.
