Dusk on a beautiful fall evening. Friends and family come together to celebrate Actress Nimi Adokiye, who stars in CBS show Bob <3 Abisola and her husband Director Danny Eley biggest project yet, their baby-to-be. These parents-to-be were surrounded by loved ones at the Queen Violet Restaurant in West Hollywood. A dreamy Asian-fusion restaurant that can elevate any night out.

The entrance of the venue was decorated with purple and white flowers and a touch of dazzle with fairy lights sprinkled amongst the flowers. It makes you feel like you are entering an enchanted Winter Wonderland. The guests of honor didn’t come to play, refusing to be upstaged Adokiye in all her pregnant bliss came dressed in a body-hugging silver sequin dress, with the bling to match. She was complemented by her husband in a light baby boy suit that matched the decor and decorations of the event. If you didn’t know what the sex of the baby was before the shower, the couple left subtle and not-so-subtle hints all around to let you know they plan on bringing a son into the world.

The couple took a moment to chat about how excited they are to meet their newest family member. When asked if they are hoping their new son will follow in his parent’s creative footsteps Elay states “I want to give him every opportunity to accomplish whatever it is he wants to do.’ They both said that there is ‘no pressure’ when it comes to their child getting bit by the Hollywood bug. But they did joke that with Danny’s height and Nimi’s extra personality they plan on putting their son in every school program and extracurricular. Adokiyen and Eley also talked about how important it is that their son knows about his Nigerian roots. The couple shared that they plan on naming their son ‘Daniel Ebi Eley’, after both of their fathers.

The soon-to-be parents also gushed about how excited they are to take their son to Nigeria “to meet all of his aunties and uncles” along with having a traditional Nigerian wedding once the restrictions lift and it is safe to travel. What a perfect way to introduce their son to his family, and see loved ones that they haven’t had a chance to see in years while celebrating their love.

Other guests included Fashion Designers like Jonathan Marc Stien, Hari Tahov, and Odain Watson. Influencers, bloggers such as Mommy and Mouse Blogger, Amarachi Odinma, and more. A close friend of the couple and a Director and Actress herself Kathy Kolla who shared some of her recent projects and even a ‘female filmmaker panel’ where she sat alongside Shari Belafonte, Eugenia Kuzmina, and Emmy Award winner Kira Reed Lorsch. While Nimi showed support in the audience for Kathy as she talked about her next upcoming project with Shari Belafonte.

Even with a star-studded blue carpet, the hallmarks of a traditional baby shower were still there. Guest played games and even took turns guessing mama-to-be Nimi’s waist size, and the winners leaving with a prize. The couple also thanked their friends and family for coming to show support and love to the couple. Elay was seen getting emotional discussing how ‘the love that he feels tonight, is the same amount of love and warmth he felt at their wedding.’ When the games subsided the guest enjoyed the beautiful decorations and delicious food while mingling with other guests and chatting up the guest of honors.
