From Salt Lake City, Utah the rock and blues group, 'Night Marcher', is beyond talented to say the least. Filling a niche that is often lost with music this group takes chances and incorporates many genres of music into their own sound. Night Marcher will be releasing their latest album, Modern Maze, later in the Spring.
All songs written and produced by Rob Reinfurt (guitar, vocals (bass, keys and drums on selected tracks) Austin Nicholsen (bass), Shaun Thomas (drums), Peter Adams (keys). Night Marcher also includes many artists who have worked with other artists and have come together for this piece of brilliance! Additional artists include: Austin Nicholsen is the bass player in Leftover Cuties and Brightside, Shaun Thomas is the drummer in The Weekenders,Peter Adams (keys) has recorded and played with Macy Gray, John Oates and Josh Groban. Background vocals are by: Aimee Nolte (piano on Broken Path), Val Larsen, Kiki Jane Sieger and Corrine Gentry.
The first single on the album, "Holy Ghost" sounds like a typical 'staple' of when you think 'indie-rock artist'. The song opens up with a very 'breathy' lyrics however the magnitude and the change of harmony over the course of the single is quite impressive.

"Holy Ghost" brings out the electric guitar, which is always welcomed, it is a great opener for this album. The next single 'Saint', takes off immediately. Another favorite from the album is "Broken Path" which is quite surprising given the tone of the previous singles. I was certain that Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes was going to join in at any time. With a very blue grass feel to it, '

Similar to Best Coast, Night Marcher, has a very light West Coast feel to it that is difficult to not admire. An overall 'fun' album, full with upbeat melodies is perfect for a drive down the famous Pacific Coast Highway with the top down and for those Summer nights on the beach. Night Marcher will be on repeat in my playlist!
