Mizani Launches the Style Shifter Society - Embracing Texture Since 1991
As a person of color, finding the perfect hair product is quite challenging. I can honestly say, I’ve tried over 50 products which lead to multiple combinations of products but always fall short. However, once I was introduced to Mizani, a brand that FINALLY embraces texture, my once lost hope has been restored.
I have thick, course, 4c hair – which I love. I’m thankful because I can have options. I can either let my hair shine in its coily glory or I have the option to switch it up a bit. From box braids to wigs I’m always changing my hair. I should’t have to decide whether to change my hair or not based off of the products I’m using. That’s why I’ve decided to use (and stick with) Mizani. Mizani has been embracing texture since 1991!

($24): An inventive scalp foaming pre-cleanser with direct to scalp application formulated with cannabis sativa seed oil, tea tree oil, peppermint oil, menthol & honey that removes product build-up, dirt and oil to leave your scalp refreshed and balanced.
To be honest, I didn’t use this one on my trial, but I plan to in the near future. I’m intrigued by the ingredients and anything that leaves your scalp refreshed, I’m into. I typically use coconut oil as a pre-shampoo overnight treatment, but will give this a go!
($22): A lightweight spray with a UV Filter and heat protection up to 450°F to help protect hair from heat damage, formulated with rose water to give sleek and frizz-controlled results with a glossy shine finish.
There’s many positives for this one! I stay away from heat on my natural hair, however I did use this on my lace front and it was quite nice. It kept the flyaways to a minimum. Heat or not, I’ll be using this one daily especially during the Summer months.
($22): A 2-in-1 pre-styling and re-styling spray that adds grip and hold to your style. Formulated with coconut extract designed to help curls feel moisturized and softens redefines styled coils, curls and waves.
Paradise in a bottle! This smells fantastic and brought the curls back to life. Perfect for the on-the-go lifestyle as you can spritz and be on your way. Beyond this trial, I’ll keep this one in the rotation.
