High cemented ceilings paired with minimal candlelit lighting and natural hues envelop the warm-atmosphere of this trendy dining establishment, who recently snagged chef Winston Wingfiled. Wingfield has re-invented the space, spruced up the menu and has even brought a major upgrade for the trendy, industrial-chic restaurant. With tons of reputable restaurants under his belt, it's Commerson that is staying relevant. It’s upscale, fresh dining without the hefty price tag. Consumers can envision fine dining that actually caters to the main market of Los Angeles.
What lacks in price definitely does not lack in flavor. Everything on the menu was pure delight, and made from scratch! Delicacies like Seared Foie Gras and Diver Scallops come natural to Commerson – and might I add, a MUST try! The Seared Foie Gras was composed of cherry compote and vincotto on a brioche toast, which melted in your mouth! It was a nice balance of savory and sweet that few have mastered when it comes to Foie Gras. The Seared Diver Scallops composed of 3 scallops atop a bed of sweet corn polenta, fried sunchoke, and blistered cherry tomato. The scallops were seasoned and lightly toasted and the perfect layer of flavors.
The venue prides itself on using local markets and keeping its menu up to date to support local farmers. “The quality of food is remarkable. We are American-French but with a twist to incorporate other cultures,” states General Manager Eunice Kim. “ We try to change the menu every season. We also use local products from the farmers and farm markets.” This month Commerson is offering a unique 3-course Chef’s Tasting Menu, in addition to the amazing brunch, happy hour, and dinner menu that is typically served!
