10th Annual LA Food Fest - THE Ultimate #Stretchypants Extravaganza
If there’s one thing that LA does right it’s food festivals. Recently foodie aficionados gathered at Santa Anita Park for the 10th Annual LA Food Fest!
A day at a food festival is a day well spent – said everyone possible! This year proceeds went to benefit Food Forward. Food Forward fights hunger and prevents food waste by rescuing fresh surplus produce, connecting this abundance with people in need and inspiring others to do the same. Food Forward is synonymous with food waste reduction in Los Angeles and we couldn't ask for a better partner as we head into our third year of being LA's only zero food waste event.
Pizza of Venice is a consistent contender when it comes to food festivals. It’s easy and the impeccable taste delivers each and every time. A’s BBQ served a smoky brisket taco. The tender meat was topped with pickled onions, jalapenos, and BBQ with crema – WOW! Pinches Flautas served a chicken and potato flautas with mesquite corn salad. Surprisingly there aren’t many establishments that can create the perfect flauta, however Pinches Flautas is a top contender. No matter how stuffed we were we could not pass on this opportunity!
Temps finally warmed up in LA which meant there were tons of beverages flowing throughout the day. Brews on site included: AsahiBeer, Boston Beer Co., Broken Shed, Citrus Grove Distillers, and of course LA’s favorite Golden Road Brewery were on site (in addition to many others!) La Boulisterie Los Angeles, Obvious Wines, and Sylvia Bosco were a few of the wines on site.
No festival is complete without a plethora of desserts to choose from! Why choose when you can try them all?! The Portland fav.has expanded to LA! Voodoo Donuts was onsite sampling its delicious pink donuts! You Had Me at Helado was the perfect addition! The brand has been taking over the dessert scene in LA. They even serve boozy treats as well! Such as the “No Champagne, No Gain” a vegan, grapefruit sorbet (infused with champagne)! Refreshing sorbets is just what is needed just about any day!
Since inception in February 2010, the LA Food Fest has hosted more than 25,000 Angelenos and has strived to fill the gap and merge community while supporting small businesses and local flavors. It’s truly an humble food festival, for a good cause and ALWAYS a good time!
No tastebud went unfulfilled at this foodie experience! From iced coffee, tequila tastings to savory grilled cheese truck and hearty BBQ this was the ultimate #stretchypants extravaganza!
