Oh me oh me oh me oh my - Janelle Monae killed it at the infamous Greek last night in Los Angeles. Over the years the powerhouse has been relentlessly letting it all out on the stage and we are HERE for it!

I'll be honest, living in LA it takes a lot to impress me and I'll be real, I'm swooning of this starlet. Her fierce lyrics, powerhouse vocals, and down-right realness allow fans to fully relate to the singer. TBH how could you not? She is undeniabley talented, incredibly beautiful which is effortlessly displayed within her lyrics, and she is the fierce best friend that we all want!

Last night we saw a few familiar faces such as: Lena Waithe, Donald Glover, Laverne Cox were in attendance to support Monae on tour. Monae even garnered the attention of Erica Badu prior to the show. However, we couldn't help but wonder if rumored love, Tessa Thompson, was in the audience (or backstage.)

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Monae said she was pansexual.

"Being a black queer woman in America, someone who has been in relationships with both men and women — I consider myself to be a free-a** motherf**ker," she said. "Later I read about pansexuality and was like, 'Oh, these are things that I identify with, too.' I'm open to learning more about who I am." While later Tessa Thompson opened up about her sexuality and how her family completely accepts her in a new interview with Net-a-Porter“I can take things for granted because of my family – it’s so free and you can be anything that you want to be,” she told the outlet. “I’m attracted to men and also to women. If I bring a woman home, [or] a man, we don’t even have to have the discussion.”

The lack of diversity in the media has constantly been an issue and the need for increased bisexual and pansexual representation in the media is a necessity.

“We love each other deeply,” Thompson concluded. “We’re so close, we vibrate on the same frequency. If people want to speculate about what we are, that’s okay. It doesn’t bother me.”

If that doesn't clear the air, I don't know what will. For now, let's just concentrate on how talented these queens are. Meanwhile I'll sit in awe and appreciate her incredible performance for exactly what it was, and EXACTLY the moment we needed - pure liberating visibility.
