The Peppermint Club - A True Blast From the Past
The h.wood group has easily been known for creating some of the most sought out venues when it comes to nightlife and restaurants. They’re at it again with their latest venture, The Peppermint Club! Merging with Interscope Records, The Peppermint Club will give guests an intimate look at life circa 60’s with modern glam.
Anyone that has been at the famous 8713 Beverly Blvd., knows the venue has gone through major renovations almost yearly. From Guys, Guys and Dolls, The Beverly, Hooray Henry’s, and Henry’s and now The Peppermint Club, the location has always struck a chord with locals and manages to deliver an upscale crowd and remain one of the must-see spots.
“I couldn’t be more excited for us to be partnering with John, Brian, and the h.wood Group for this venture,” states John Janick, Interscope Geffen A&M Chairman. “They’ve created a dynasty, and when we first discussed the idea, it made sense to join forces. The Peppermint Club puts sound and performance at the forefront of the design.”
Created by the team that brought us a few staples such as: Bootsy Bellows, Blind Dragon, The NICE GUY, Delilah, SHOREbar to name a few, adding another spot only seems right.
“I think that there is truly nothing else like actually seeing musicians play live in a venue. Personally, I believe that The h.wood Group have contributed in a major way to the LA marketplace in catering to musicians. All of our venues feature a small stage and music area, and for the past decade I have always wanted to do an actual live music venue,” explains h.Wood’s John Terzian. “The Peppermint Club pays homage to the historic live music venues we’ll grew up with and love, like ‘Whiskey A Go Go’, ‘Troubadour’, etc., but with our modern twist on it. We teamed up with Interscope to create the best small live music venue around when it comes to design, décor, sound and overall vibe.”
The key partners include h.wood Group’s, John Terzian, Brian Toll, with interior design and construction by John Sofio of Built,Inc. As you enter The Peppermint Club you’ll immediately notice that it is a walk through the past. The décor boasts a classic yet regency style with vintage and warm polished brass, high end artwork and pop art. The VIP room, ‘Virginia Black Green Room, is for artists and guests for more privacy.
“The Peppermint club is a venue frozen in time, existing both today and in yester-eras,” states Sofio. “ The Peppermint club nightly, welcomes guests to indulge in the evening now, and to savor the experiences and things we love.”
With such a chic venue it’s appropriate for the menu to match! The h.wood Group’s Food & Beverage Specialist, Adam Koral, created signature mixology program with specialty cocktails such as their hit-maker, The Billboard. A modern twist on a classic, The Billboard is made with Virginia Black whiskey, muddled strawberry, honey, lemon juice, and soda. Guests can expect to enjoy hand crafted cocktails with a light bite menu as well.
The Peppermint Club merges nightlife, live music, and lifestyle into one great experience. Officially opened Wednesday, January 11th, The Peppermint Club is sure to revive a key component in L.A. nightlife.
