Rooftop Cinema Club Makes its Debut in Santa Monica Giving the Ultimate Open-Air Cinema Experience
Angelenos can breathe once again - Rooftop Cinema Club is back! This time the Drive-In is at the Santa Monica Airport and better than ever. Rooftop Cinema Club Santa Monica kicks off on Nov. 27 with a screening of “Grease!”
The “We Love LA” series will feature films set in and around Los Angeles, followed by a slew of holiday programming. While the space is technically not a rooftop per se, but the experience won’t disappoint! Guests can also expect screenings of “Clueless” and “Pulp Fiction” on Nov. 28 and feature more recent movies including “La La Land” and “Love & Basketball” on Nov. 29.
“We are excited to bring the Rooftop Cinema Club experience back to our fans and Angelenos alike in a new and safe way,” said Gerry Cottle Jr., owner and founder of Rooftop Cinema Club. “Though our current venue is not on a Rooftop, we’re still committed to creating the ultimate outdoor cinema experience we’re known for.”
Rooftop’s number one priority is guest safety, which is why the experience is entirely contactless. Guests are required to watch the film from within their vehicle and must wear a mask or face covering anytime they are outside the vehicle for any reason, including to visit portable restrooms on site or retrieve food with contactless order and pickup. Guests are also welcome to bring their own food and drink.
Movie-goers will drive into parking spaces 10 feet away from neighboring vehicles. The films are projected onto a 52-foot screen, while audio is piped through each car’s FM stereo. Guests may also bring a portable radio. There’s space for 150 cars each night.
Rooftop Cinema Club is the ultimate open-air cinema experience! Check it out because literallyyyyyy what else are you doing?! All jokes aside, it’s a safe way to get a sense of normalcy! Check out the lineup HERE!
