Bruno Mars Drips in Finesse at BottleRock Napa Valley - The Fancy Coachella
The final day of the fest delivered clear skies, bright eyes, and plenty more music performances for you to sing your heart out!
As The Struts' frontman Luke Spiller put it, “we are playing the greatest festival in America," - BottleRock! That being said the festival has drawn to an all time high and continues to break records now that it's in its 6th year! The festival typically sells out, however this time around it sold out in mere minutes. Many accredited that to closing night artist, Bruno Mars.
Day three kicked off with loyal fans that dedicated their entire day to setting up shop at Jam Cellars stage in order to snag a good seat for Bruno. Even beloved Country music artist, Trisha Yearwood, who announced she will be releasing a solo album next year, exclaimed she was excited to see Bruno!
With so many other incredible performances happening in around the fest, we could not make that commitment and I don't regret that for one second.
Lake Street Dive and Halsey were a couple of other artists that performed on the same space as Bruno earlier in the day. Live Street Jazz won over the hearts of the crowns and stayed true to their folklore roots.
Many were surprised to see Halsey at a festival such as BottleRock, and for good reason. While the songstress does have a few good singles such as "Bad at Love," and "Him & I", a couple platinum albums which has resulted in multiple sold out shows, many felt she wasn't quite quipped for the performance.
A handful of attendees complained about the multiple complaints she spewed during her set while others opted to find the silver lining. After the set see tweeted out that she “had an asthma attack onstage...and ended up with medics after my set!!!” She continued, “this is what I get for walking the mile in high school gym class byeeeeee,” she wrote. Despite the series of unfortunate event that didn't keep her or fans from having a good time at the festival.
Lines sprawled out to the culinary stage as fans anxiously waited for Bruno's arrival. Set to perform at 8, the hitmaker showed 20 minutes later, however making the wait more than worth it! He of course played classic hits such as “24K Magic,” "That's What I Like," he also played low-key favorites such as "Chunky" and "Versace on the Floor." During his set he even joked and called BottleRock a "fancy Coachella"- and I completely agree!
The performance -flawless, choreography- sheer perfection, Bruno Mars was THE BEST way to close out the festival! Bruno ended the festival on a high note by performing “Uptown Funk,” and attendees left the festival dancing and keeping the party going into the wee hours of the morning.
“We are always looking to exceed our attendees expectations,” said Dave Graham, Partner and Co-Founder of BottleRock Presents. “From the beginning, we have built BottleRock on the foundation of knowing why people come to The Napa Valley in the first place…for the wine, food, hospitality and weather. And then we add an incredible and diverse musical lineup. We believe this is what sets BottleRock apart and why it has been so well received.”
In addition to Bruno Mars, The Killers and Muse the JaM Cellars Stage was jumping all weekend with performances by Halsey, Incubus, The Head & The Heart, Billy Idol, Earth Wind & Fire, The Revivalists, Lake Street Dive, Michael Franti & Spearhead and The Struts among many others. The larger and improved Midway Stage featured The Chainsmokers, Snoop Dogg, Thievery Corporation, E-40 and more, while on the Miner Stage attendees were entertained by St. Paul & The Broken Bones, The Motet, Natalia Lafourcade, Allen Stone, and many more. The Lagunitas Stage featured its strongest lineup yet, including performances by Tank & The Bangas, AYOKAY, Moonalice, Pokey Lafarge and a huge silent disco featuring The White Panda and Warren G. Over 80 musical acts were presented on five music stages over the three days of the festival.
This years festival brought about 120,000 attendees to Napa Valley for an elevated festival experience!
