Sara Schaefer is a critically acclaimed stand up comedian, writer, and producer currently based in Los Angeles. She was recently the co-host of MTV’s late night show Nikki & Sara Live and has appeared on @Midnight, John Oliver’s New York Stand Up Show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Best Week Ever, and Inside Amy Schumer.

Schaefer is now moving on to her next venture, which is taking over the stage at The Venetian for Lipshtick- The Perfect Shade of Stand Up to co-headline with fellow comedian Nikki Glaser this weekend, September 27th.

LIPSHTICK is a newly branded resident comedy series at The Venetian in Las Vegas. The series marks the first time in entertainment history of Las Vegas that the comedy stage is taken exclusively by female performers. Wendy Williams, Lisa Lampanelli, Whitney Cummings, Caroline Rhea, and more have already graced the stage!

"Being a part of Lipshtick is super exciting, says Schaefer. It's at one of the biggest shows I've done and The Venetian is a  high profile venue. Overall it is really an honor to be included!" Lipshtick is all about the empowerment of women and the notation to stand out from the 'crowd' and a sickening stigma that 'a female comic can not headline for another female comic'.

"I'm proud of being a female and being in this business, I just wish it wasn't 'something that had to be differentiated', says Schaefer. Sexism is insidious and yucky, there are challenges no matter who you are."

Currently Schaefer has her own podcast, 'Lie', which will make its debut October 7th on WNYC in partnership with Nerdist. "It's me interviewing someone and instead of a confessional setting, they have to tell a lie, says Schaefer. It's more or less like an improvised interview and gives people the chance to BS for an hour."

In the words of Sara Schaefer herself, "women should promote themselves a little harder, don't be afraid to come off cocky or bitchy." All should head over to The Venetian to go and not only support femininity but also equality and check out Lipshtick, which is continuously running till January 2015.
