If you're a fan of infusing mystical story-telling through music then Robert Nix' latest album, "Once in a Blue Moon", is for you! Recently released this album takes on an interesting approach. Largely known for his ability to incorporate alternative undertones with progressive rock this album doesn't stray too far from just that.
The entire album has this melodic, Renaissance-era hymn that compliments his talent, which is almost similar to the tones of the famous, 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. Overall feel of the album is almost too cohesive as it does not showcase his range as an artist nor does it challenge the listener. Often times while listening to an album, an artist will take the listener on a journey and let the listener decipher the meaning of the album. However, with , "Once in a Blue Moon", the listener seems to not have that option in doing so.
One interesting aspect in looking at Nix as an artist is his ability to own his craft! He handles all aspects of the writing, performance, and production -- and for that he stands out! If you're a fan of Talking Heads, Joy Division or Gary Numan, then you will be a fan of Robert Nix!
