New Music Mondays - LANY Has 'Kinda' Taken Over Our Playlists
It's been a while since I've discovered a band that immediately gives me 'all the feels.' LANY, Los Angeles based band is the epitome of just that -- ALL THE FEELS. Most bands will categorize themselves as pop, punk, or something rather, however LANY fits the bill for many genre's. The genre-bending band has graced the stages across a 30+ city tour and we were lucky enough to check them out at The Fonda in Los Angeles!
It's difficult to find the correct words that can do justice to their talent, just know that it is oh so relatable. An intimate setting filled with energy and ear-gasmic lyricism encompassing your soul for about 60-minutes is the best way to describe their set at The Fonda! The set composed of a couple of oldies as well as singles from their latest EP. A few of my favorites: "yea, babe, no way," and "like you lots."
Paul Klein, Les Priest and Jake Goss is the talent that makes up LANY. As for the name itself, it stems from 'spanning across the country,' Klein has said in an interview. The threesome has received much praise across the globe from publications such as: Consequence of Sound, Billboard, Wonderland, Forbes, Rolling Stone.
Recently LANY has released their latest EP, kinda, and they have been garnishing major accolades. As the most streamed artist through Spotify’s Discover Weekly feature, their songs have garnered over 59 million streams on Spotify alone. Billboard also recently announced that LANY is the number one emerging artist after the release of the music video for their single. Rightfully so, LANY is not only a rarity, but it's a pure fantasy showcased both on and off the stage.
