Gianchello Releases His Latest, Millennial Kingdom Vol 1
In today's world music is always changing, however, there are some undertones that have remained relevant - jazz. Jody Giachello, known as Fourth Dimension (4D) tries to do just that with his latest album, Millennial Kingdom Vol 1.
Located in Long Beach, CA Giachello is a multidimensional drummer and producer and has been said to be a mix of Kamasi Wasington, Thundercat, Esperanza Spalding, BadBadNotGood, and Snarky Puppy. Listening to the album, I definitely see how individuals would suggest it's Jazz Fusion, but it sounds more like progressive jazz but more on the alternative side.
Gianchello recently toured for 3 years Nationally and Internationally with The Illusionists, the worlds largest touring magic show. Including 2 separate 6 week record breaking runs on Broadway at the Marquis Theatre and the Neil Simon Theatre and also had three guest performances on Americas Got Talent in promotion for Broadway.
Out March 31st, Millennial Kingdom Vol. 1 features Dustin Moore aka Neon Phoenix - Bass, Keys, Moog, Talkbox & Justin Panariello - Bass. Christian Wunderlich - Guitar & Andy Meixner - Guitar. Steve White - EVI.
Giachello has potential in garnishing attention from more than one audience but this one just didn't strike a chord with me personally. The rifts are there but its lacking structure, but that is just my opinion.
