American High Releases Their Latest "Bones in the Attic, Flowers in the Basement."
Music, sometimes simple other times complex but it always strikes a chord with someone. Whether its the depth of the lyrics or the melodic factor of the song it can somehow be a little nostalgic. American High is a band that is doing just that. Making feel good music that touches the classic rock souls.
Originally from Sacramento, CA, American High is composed of 4 individuals that has somehow created a style that is not only relevant but reminiscent of music moguls in the 60s. Heavily influenced by bands such as The Beatles, Tom Petty, American High is one to put on the radar.
"We're 4 guys who love rock and roll and love songs and songwriting. We pay respect to brilliant artists that have gone before. But in our own way," explains American High. "Our songs are influenced by whatever bubbles up from the subconscious. We give equal weight to all ideas/hooks/harmonies, regardless of which decade they harken to."
Their latest EP, "Bones in the Attic, Flowers in the Basement," was recently released in March. The album touches on topics that many are shy about discussing such as social and political issues.
While I won't have it on repeat, this is an album with heavy material delivered in an flower-child upbeat tone and is worth listening to.
