Originating from Los Angeles and barely forming in December of 2015, Memoirs, an indie-pop/rock band has officially hit the ground running - as you have to in order to survive this melting pot of emerging talent in the city of Angels. Their debut single, 'Run To Me", out March 11th, engages the sounds of a mixture of a few similar musicians today. Harmonious lyrics that are contagious that are combined with a beat that is almost similar to the undertones of Brittney Spears circa 2003 ('Protected' to be precise).
If you listen to the lyrics to the single closely it seems as if the chorus is the glue and in a sense the meat of the song. From the chorus alone, you get a view of the meaning of the song. With lyrics like, "Every time you wake up next to someone else, you drive yourself alone...picking me apart when I'm the only one there - hold me now." Interesting choice of works in the verse, however the meaning is clear when the chorus breaks.
Composed of: Aaron Ficchi (vocals/guitar/keys), Josh Ficchi (drums/percussion), Frankie Siragusa (bass/synth/vocals) the band is on the right track. Siragusa is an LA producer who has worked with notable musicians such as: Sara Watkins (The Decemberists), Ken Andrews (Failure, Year of the Rabbit), The Watson Twins (Jenny Lewis) and more. Each band member has proven to be a key attribute to the band and their success.
Be sure to keep up with them as they are set to embark on a west coast tour for the Summer!
