Los Angeles Times Food Bowl Presents the No Beast Feast

Recently foodies gathered at the Coral Tree Plaza at Broder Grill for the No Beast Feasta premier dining event taking place during the Los Angeles Times Food Bowl.

Sponsored by Frieda's Specialty Produce the No Beast Feast featured local chefs using locally sourced fruits and vegetables to inspire a plant-base diet. Founded by  Dr. Frieda Rapoport Caplan who first introduced the kiwifruit to the U.S. in 1962. The now family business inspires to bring new experiences while delivering specialty veggies and fruits.

Hosted by this years LA Times’ Gold Winners Susan Feniger & Mary Sue Milliken, that celebrated vegetarian cuisines. This one of a kind event featured a prominent line-up of local and international chefs who featured tasting that were either vegetarian or vegan which paired well with the wines from female owned wineries. The event proceeds will benefit Proceed of from this event were donated to Girls Inc. and the James Beard Women’s Leadership Program to help young girls find their voice in the Hospitality Industry.

"I love the LA Times and I'm a LA chef. Any chance I can come and support - I do it," states Executive Chef Antonia Lofaso of Black City Market in Studio City who served a nice dish including: whipped chickpeas, wild mushrooms, chives and tarragon, a little pepper oil, on charred ciabatta.

Throughout the month the LA Times Food Bowl celebrates the city's dynamic food scene and features many of the chefs and restaurants that have helped put Los Angeles on the map as a premier dining destination alongside world-renowned chefs. The festival also supports food access, sustainability and waste reduction through charity partners and participating events. Los Angeles Times Food Bowl 2018 charitable partners are L.A. KitchenFood Forward and Midnight Mission
