Their innovative concoctions are simply amazing, and made with premium, organic, and or all-natural ingredients!

Identify LA got the chance to speak with the Arnsdorff herself on being an entrepreneur, her favorite flavor and what the future holds!

Identify LA: When was the moment you decided you wanted to create Flour & Branch and became an entrepreneur?

Lauren Arnsdorff: I've actually known I would do something big since I was a child, and felt like Flour & Branch was my calling from the universe. But I dreamt up Flour & Branch's actual concept and menu offering about two years before I founded the company.

IDLA: As a business owner, what was a hurdle or struggle you had to overcome (and how did you)?

LA: Goodness there are countless struggles. The latest and greatest struggle has been finding the right storefront to move into. I've literally walked the streets searching for locations, dealt with very aggressive and seemingly heartless landlords, had properties fall through after they seemed like a done deal, and pitched myself and brand a dozen times. Hopefully all that has given me better knowledge to understand what to expect and ask for, and I do think I'm very close to settling on a really great storefront.

IDLA: What makes Flour & Branch different from other cookie brands?

LA: We're the first of its kind! There are big + soft cookie brands, there are cookies made with very premium, organic, and sustainable ingredients (but not Kerrygold butter!), and there are gift wrapped cookie brands, but we haven't seen one that does all the above with elevated nostalgia. We focus on every little, teeny detail, and we truly go out of our way to ensure every customer has a great, unique experience with us.

IDLA: You mention on the site you want your flavors to remind consumers of their favorite childhood memories. What is a childhood memory that you hold dear?

LA: All my favorite childhood memories revolve around food. On holidays and during the summers, my family and I would head to my grandparent's house in Coronado. The women in my family made everything feel so special, and we were always surrounded by good food and family style spreads. My grandparents have passed and their house is no longer in the family, but those memories are some of my dearest.

IDLA: What's next?  

LA: I'm hoping to move into a storefront in San Francisco's Marina district soon (fingers crossed!), and once we do we'll expand our product offering. We're picking up volume with Nationwide shipping on Goldbelly and recently signed with a bespoke corporate gifting brand. Hopefully lots and lots more to come!
